CALL FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS

The AfIHC Planning Committee welcomes your abstract submissions for oral papers, panel presentations, and scientific posters. The submission period is from January 1st – March 30th 2019. All abstract submissions should use the Abstract Template format and be submitted as a pdf or doc. Abstract can also be emailed to abstract@afihc.org

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Abstract submission due:Abstract submission due: March 30, 2019 at 23:59 GMT
  • Abstract notifications: April 30, 2019
  • Conference: July 4-5, 2019

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Presenting authors are responsible for registration, travel, and hotel costs.
  • Any presenter who is unable to attend should arrange for another qualified individual to present the paper/poster in question.
  • Abstracts not exceeding 250 words must be submitted by email with the subject “AfIHC 2019” to abstract@afihc.org or uploaded on our website in pdf or doc format using the Abstract Template.
  • Submission of an abstract constitutes permission for the conference organizers to publish it in either printed or electronic format for conference promotional purposes.
  • Please indicate at the bottom of your abstract whether you would like to give an oral presentation or a poster presentation. All abstracts submitted will be considered eligible for one type of presentation: oral or poster. The decision of the Abstract Review Committee regarding acceptance and presentation of abstracts is final.
  • Abstracts that do not meet the required format will not be considered.

SUBMISSION OPTIONS

Paper Presentations
Paper presentations provide authors the opportunity to present original work related to conference topics. Oral paper presentations will have 15-minute time slots and be clustered by theme into sessions. Each session will include three to four individual presentations and time for questions from the audience. Submit abstract using Abstract Template.

Poster Presentations
Our 90-minute poster session provides an interactive forum for authors to discuss their work. Submissions may represent original empirical research, theoretical development, or reviews. Poster submissions should use the Abstract Template format

Panel Presentations
Panel presentations provide authors the option to organize a panel comprising three related presentations. Panel presentation sessions will be 90 minutes long, with 60 minutes for the presentation and 30 minutes for discussion. A panel proposal should use the Abstract Template format and must include an abstract summarizing the overall theme of the panel, as well as individual abstracts for each presentation included in the panel. Panel presentations that bring together experts for interactive discussions should describe questions that will be addressed by the panel.
